GPA Calculator
Add your courses and grades to get your GPA on the 4.0 scale. Switch tabs to roll it into your cumulative GPA, or to find the grades you need for a target.
How GPA is calculated
Term GPA = sum(grade points x credits) / total credits
Cumulative = (old GPA x old credits + new points) / all credits
Needed = (target x all credits - old GPA x old credits) / upcoming credits
Points use the standard 4.0 scale (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, and so on). Pass/fail courses earn credit but no grade points, so they are excluded.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between weighted and unweighted GPA?
Unweighted GPA uses a flat 4.0 scale regardless of course difficulty. Weighted GPA adds extra points for honors or AP/IB classes. This tool uses the standard unweighted 4.0 scale.
Is an A+ worth 4.0 or 4.3?
Most schools cap the scale at 4.0, so A and A+ are both 4.0. Some award 4.3 for an A+. Use the toggle to match your school's policy.
Do pass/fail classes count?
No. Pass/no-pass courses earn credit but carry no grade points, so they are left out of the GPA calculation.
How do colleges recalculate GPA?
Many recompute GPA on their own scale, sometimes stripping weighting or non-academic courses. Always check the specific school's method.
